Lois Lake Steelhead
Undeniably Healthy. Unbelievably Tasty.
We are proud of our farm
Our Lois Lake Steelhead are raised in the deep, cool waters of Lois Lake, nestled within British Columbia’s majestic Coast Mountains and surrounded by forests.
West Coast was established in 1973 as a small, family-owned business, committed to producing the highest premium quality fish in the province. The same level of commitment to high standards, quality and craftsmanship continues today as part of the AgriMarine Group of Companies.
We continue to raise our fish with the same care and attention to detail that has made our Lois Lake Steelhead well-known for its quality and sustainability.
Our flavourful Steelhead is the result of the ideal combination of healthy fish, clean waters and carefully selected feed that meet the nutritional needs of our fish. Our Lois Lake Steelhead are fed with sustainable feeds that contain high levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Our fish are fed by a dedicated team of farmers. The amount fed is optimized according to fish size and water temperature so as to minimize waste and maximize fish growth.
Reared in a stress-free environment, our Lois Lake Steelhead are harvested, processed in-house and immediately chilled to the core to ensure maximum quality and freshness. Our meticulous processes and procedures ensure that we harvest the freshest product to our customers. Available fresh as whole dressed or boneless fillets, we guarantee that our Lois Lake Steelhead are fresh, nutritious and flavourful year round.
Antibiotic-free, OceanWise™ Recommended
Our Lois Lake Steelhead is recommended by the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise™ program as an ocean-friendly seafood choice. Eating our BC-farmed Steelhead salmon ensures that you will always be guaranteed a fresh, highly nutritional and flavourful fish that is reared sustainably, free of antibiotics.

Sustainable Rearing Practices
Since 1973, West Coast has been a leader in developing high quality standards and responsible environmental rearing practices. A longtime proponent of improving fish farming techniques, West Coast developed one of the first commercial recirculation hatcheries in B.C and was an early adapter of emerging closed containment technology.
AgriMarine’s floating, semi-closed containment systems optimize the rearing environment for our Lois Lake Steelhead and enhance production. Designed by AgriMarine, the technology brings added husbandry and sustainability benefits.
The AgriMarine System™ is a flow-through, floating, solid-walled tank that creates a more secure, reliable and efficient fish rearing environment. The solid wall separates the farmed fish from the external environment and mitigates disease transfer. Life support systems are built-in to moderate in-tank temperatures and supplement oxygen. In-tank cameras enable our farmers to ensure efficient feeding practices and help minimize any effect that the farm may have on the surrounding environment. AgriMarine is leading the industry in sustainability and innovation.
